σώφρων
Μιμογράφος του 5ου π.Χ. αι., που έζησε στις Συρακούσες και έγραψε σε αρχαία δωρική μίμους, διακωμωδώντας τη ζωή των κατώτερων κοινωνικών τάξεων. Από τα έργα του σώθηκαν μόνο αποσπάσματα. Τα έργα του χωρίζονται σε Μίμους ανδρείους, που αναφέρονται δηλαδή σε άντρες, και Μίμους γυναικείους, που αναφέρονται σε γυναίκες. Τους μίμους του Σ. μιμήθηκε ο Ηρώνδας. Στην Αθήνα τους μίμους του Σ. τους επέβαλε με εισηγήσεις του ο Πλάτων.
